Oooh, I’ve always wanted to try Angela’s bars!

One thing that helps me renew my spirit – and I know this sounds completely nerdy – is a trip to the library or bookstore! I love the quiet and being surrounded by loads of interesting books to browse through. It relaxes me and clears my head!

    • Kaylan says:

I have been choosing to treat myself better, and it is such a journey coming from a steep slope of eating disorders, severe health issues, and depression.

I HAVE FOUND that I refreshed by hearing other people’s stories and being vulnerable with others.
I am refreshed and motivated to change my own patterns as I recognize what they really are as I visualize others’ similar patterns and stories. I love hearing the progress and new found self-acceptance and forgiveness in many blogs and personal friendships.

I have chosen to start my own blog in order to help other friends that I am mentoring through there similar struggles. I am building relationships that I have never had! I am finding a strength that I didn’t recognize before as I enjoy all life really has instead of such a narrow pattern of thinking! And I want to help others. That is how I am refreshed!

      • Mish says:

I find that I renew myself through giving back and being honest in my blog. That totally makes sense.

  2. dailygoods says:

omg! I”VE BEEN DYING to try her bars! i think the best thing for me is a good old fashioned yoga class…. nothign clears my mind and renews my spirit quite like it πŸ™‚

    • Mish says:

  3. Jen O says:

I really want those bars! I renew my spirit by taking time for myself and also taking time to think about all the great things in my life.

    • Mish says:

I think that is such a good one–taking time away from Technology. An internet/Computer free time. Love it. I shall endeavour to do this for sure!

  4. Katy says:

Ooh, good question — and great giveaway!

When I need a kick in the spirit πŸ™‚ I turn on showtunes and play them as loudly as I can stand. I sing along — even when I don’t know all the words — and dance.

I’m a terrible dancer. But boy does it make me feel good!

    Alternative: get a pedicure. Bliss.

  5. megzzwinsatlife says:

GREAT giveaway!! Can’t wait to try Angela’s bars.. I usually dim the lights and do some nice yoga!! Last week during meditation I put on a detoxing face mask it was great!

  6. Katherine says:

I like to have little dates with myself – usually this involves shopping, eating at a cafe, going for a walk/run/bike ride at the park, making a nice dinner and watching a movie with a glass of wine…as you can see, my spirit gets kicked in the pants quite often, so I have to have a large arsenal of tricks!

    • Mish says:

I love the idea of dates w/ myself. I actually may bring that up in my Double Dog Dare You! page for next week. Thanks Kat!

  7. heather says:

    How I renew my spirit:

    1. Make a list (thankful for, why I rock, what I am going to accomplish, things I enjoy, etc)

    2. Drink some tea & listen to dave matthews band

    3. Laugh. And laugh. And laugh.

  8. Tracey @ Tropical Happiness says:

Oooh Oooh! Fun post! I will twitter this (or is it tweet?) as soon as I’m done posting.

To renew, I spend time with family. I find that when I’m really stressed or burnt out, a few hours with my husband or my parents (usually both together) just centers me and brings me back to myself.

    • Mish says:

Thanks in advance Tracey. I love spending time with those I love. They have a way of grounding me. πŸ™‚ Thanks for stopping by.

  9. Haleigh says:

Sweet giveaway, I have been dying to try some of Angela’s Glo bars! Hhmm.. how do I renew myself? I would say by spending time with family and friends, taking a nice long bath or going for a run in the crisp, fall air.

    Thanks for the giveaway!! πŸ™‚

  10. Sarah (from See Sarah Eat) says:

What a great contest! I have been wanting to try those bars too πŸ™‚

I’m sure I’m repeating what a lot of others have said but when I need to renew my spirit, I like to start something new. If I’ve been running for a while, I will focus on a weight training program or vice versa.

I also renew my focus on prayer and taking time out to thank God for everything in my life.

A good girl’s night out (or in) helps a lot too πŸ™‚

  11. Sony says:

    Great giveaway!

When my spirit has taken a beating, I nurse my soul with a cup of tea, a long walk, and my ipod.

And then I ask my hubby for a gigantic hug! That always makes me feel a million times better.:-)

  12. Jennie {in Wonderland} says:

My favourite way to renew is to take a long, hot shower. Just being in that space, with the steam and the pounding water, it clears my mind and helps me breathe. It also feels very therapeutic. I love it!!

And I love Ange’s bars… would be elated to win some!!

  13. Julia says:

When I need to renew, I love to go do something active by myself. A long hike in the woods, or a run without timing. Being alone with my own thoughts helps me sort things out and get me into a better place.
    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  14. Amy says:

When I need to renew my spirit I love to have a nice hot bubble bath, with some candles, and my favorite music.

I take some time for myself.. Fill up the tub add some epsom salts, light some candles, and give my body the thanks it DESERVES!!

  16. Stacey says:

When I need to renew my spirit I make sure to give myself some ME time.

My favorite way to do this: waking up early to get some yoga in with the sun coming in through the windows while the house is still quiet.

I find if I’m able to RENEW first thing in the morning, it puts a much more positive spin on the rest of the day!

  17. Chloe says:

    What a wonderful giveaway!
When I need to renew I either go for a nice walk with my ipod to keep me company. I like to listen to This American Life, a program by NPR, and let my mind drift.
Either that or do yoga. It always helps me to feel centered and refreshed. Plus, if I can stop my mind from racing and focus on the breathing I feel so much better.

  18. Milca says:

Umm, to renew myself.. I take a long nice warm bath. It’s the most relaxing and of course cleansing of the body and mind. Hope I win!

  25. Jamie says:

i also love spending time with the people I really love (boyfriend, friends, family etc). i find that when i get too busy, i tend to focus on everything on my plate and don’t make as much time for the important relationships in my life.

but regular exercise plays a HUGE role in keeping my spirit up to the point where it rarely needs a kick in the pants πŸ™‚

  38. Kayzilla says:

I renew my spirit by putting on some really good music.. whether it’s a rock song, a bouncy pop song, or something extremely mellow, and I throw myself into it, letting myself let any bad energy out in the beat of the song and bringing the fun-spirited energy in. It’s like it gives my soul/spirit/inner girl a good dip in the tub to get the dirt of the day off.

I also love a good phone call. I have two people I’ll call when I need this phone call, and that’s my dearest and my best friend. We don’t have to talk about anything in particular, but just hearing their voices makes me feel refreshed, yanno?

  39. Jodie says:

I read inspirational stories of those who beat the odds or have been able to overcome obstacles. As well as I go for a run, with no ipod, just the sound of my feet hitting ground and my thoughts and then an hour of pilates.

What renews my spirit? A kick ass workout! Whenever I start feeling down about myself, causing mental, emotional and physical exhaustion, I head to the gym. Working out all the bad energy, along with gaining an increase in endorphins, usually boosts me out of my slump. Not to mention, it’s always inspiring to see what my body is capable of.

I have an array of tricks, depending on the time I have, and what kind of renewing I need. Like everyone, a nice bubble bath with a good book helps me out, but I also try to wrestle with my puppy several times a day (we’re almost equal in size and weight, so it’s a bit like a tasmanian devil whirlwind). I try to get together with some girlfriends every other month or so for a night out singing karaoke, too! None of us is exceptionally good– but I love that rockstar feeling of being on stage. It really does it for me.

Great question and giveaway to lure in a newbie such as myself! πŸ™‚ I’ll be back!
