Taking A Break

Last night was my first night in my new home. I successfully unpacked as much of the mess that I had and found space in my bed to crash.

I don’t know about you, but the first night anywhere new I have a hard time sleeping. The lights flickering outside, the mini-party going on across the hallway. Thus, I didn’t get settled until about 1am.

However, I got my ass up this morning at 5:15am for the damn 5 at 5 challenge from Seth at Primal Stride. Really? I am not even working anymore…this is my damn holidays. Well I did 5km run walking in about 36 minutes. There were hills, not as bad as Ange’s Murder Hills..but they got my heart pumping. I got out the door at the last minute, 5:59am šŸ™‚

Oh and yes, I did not wear a shirt, just a sports bra. That’s right I giggled with my stretch marks. I didn’t care. Neither did the old men walking šŸ˜‰ I will be doing the 5 at 5 challenge as well as the Whittle My Middle #2 this whole time. I am excited. These are the views I had on my walk..they’re my views for the next year. SO GREAT!

I have been living off of nectarines, rice crackers and peanut butter cause I don’t have a fridge. It is exciting to say this…but I am going to be going away Down South with three boys this weekend. We are going to be hiking around some of the beautiful places down south, swimming/snorkeling and enjoying life. I almost didn’t go cause nothing NOTHING is planned. However, I need to push outside of my organised comfort zones and just go with life.

I am NOT taking my computer AT ALL. Instead I am REALLY taking a break from blogging. I will be back Wednesday Night or Thursday morning. I haven’t taken a break from blogging, not even when I was in Timor, and not even when I said I was going to take one over the holidays.

So..have a good couple of days. Please say a prayer for my sanity. I am taking books, i pod and lots of patience. Full re-cap when I get back.

What do you do when you need a break?

we will miss you my dear, but I know that the break is well deserved and much needed- sometimes you just HAVE to unplug and unwind!

That being said, however, I can’t wait for the recaps šŸ™‚

Whenever I need a break I usually just unplug. I may still twitter and use my iPhone for anything I might want but I don’t blog and I try to avoid e-mail. That usually makes me feel better and ready to dive right in! šŸ™‚

I can’t wait to hear about your trip though and good luck with unplugging!

    Enjoy your trip.

Those views are stunning! If everyone had views like that, we’d probably have people outside exercising more. šŸ™‚

I hope you have a great time this weekend!! I’m the same way…I’m leery of “unplanned plans,” but I need to be brave like you and just GO FOR IT! Have a blast!

When I need a break, I go to the beach and stay there for a night or two. Or I go to the mountains and just chill with my boyfriend….

I’m so jealous that you have the courage to workout in just your sports bra. I’m not there yet.

What amazing landscapes. It must take A LOT of courage to get up that early and go running, but I’m sure the idea of these beautiful views probably helps to lure you out of bed!
I believe you will get a nice surprise as far as the break is concerned. Sounds like you have a rather fast-paced life, and it’s generally quite empowering to leave everything behind and spend a few days with no computer or phone. Have lots of fun, look forward to your next entry!!

It was fabulous and made me think a lot about what I put my time towards in my ‘everyday life’. It also made me want to move onto a farm and grow my own veggies and have animals šŸ™‚

Hey good for you taking a proper computer-free break. I try to do that from time-to-time as well and it’s great.

I’m just back from mine. Did you have a good time?

    Oh and Happy New Year.

I so miss the sun and warmth – it’s all snowy here :o(
